Logan County Idaho, a brief life

In Tilden, Henry mentions Logan County, a place likely a surprise to most of today's dwellers of Idaho. It existed only for a short time in what might have been a local coup of sorts to break up Alturas County's powerful size. Alturas' southern parts became Elmore and Logan in 1889, then in 1895 Alturas and Logan were combined into Blaine, making Alturas disappear. Part of Blaine was then taken to make Lincoln County. Today's Power County was taken from Cassia County in 1913. You can read about Logan County at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_County,_Idaho

Not too much has changed since that musical chairlike shuffling. Going through Bingham County's road books, the crew noted working on the Aberdeen-American Falls section of the main road from Blackfoot that it was aimed for "Logan County", which suggests Power County on today's map. The name "Logan" leads one to believe an LDS influence was at work, the Oneida/Northern Utah connection to southeast Idaho being so strong.
